Resources

Here are some resources that I have found useful as I go about bringing these old machines back to life.

I do want to make it clear that this information is to be used at your own risk. Every effort has been made to verify what is presented here and to the best of my knowledge, this is good information and links. Information changes and how somebody uses the information is entirely up to them. Please keep this in mind!

Leather belts with holes for Barnes Machinery – Contact John and he can help you out -JOHN@LEATHERDRIVEBELTS.COM

Vintage Machinery Website – This is a wonderful resource for all kinds of information from pictures, to information on companies to catalogs, etc., etc. There is a to kill for WIKI as well with even more great stuff. http://vintagemachinery.org/home.aspx

The “sister ship” to Vintage Machinery is the Old Wood (now Metal as well) Working Machines. Great chat groups to hang out with others that love all older machinery – even ones with those new fangled electrical motors!! http://www.owwm.org/

Cattail Foundry is and Amish operated foundry in Gordonville, PA. They can cast parts in Cast/Gray Iron and are masters of their trade. Think they also have Barnes seats like on the #2 scroll saw, the Former and the Barnes velocipede lathes. They also have the stems for the former and the #2 scroll saw. You can call them at 717 768-7323 and leave a message on their answering machine and they will call you back. The address is 167 W Cattail Rd.
